The Malaysian Committee on Large Dams
welcomes the global water and energy community to
the vibrant, multi-cultural city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The city is located in west-central Peninsular (West) Malaysia, midway along the west coast tin and rubber belt and about 25 miles (40 km) east of its ocean port, Port Kelang, on the Strait of Malacca. It is the country’s largest urban area and its cultural, commercial, and transportation centre.
The Shangri-La hotel, in the heart of the city, will provide a comfortable and elegant setting for the conference, and rooms are being blocked there, as well as at other nearby hotels in all categories, for ICDSME2023 delegates. The hotel has a modern and well-equipped convention centre, as well as spa facilities and a gym. At the various social functions, delegates will have a chance to feast on specialties of Malay, Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Technical Tour
18 March 2023
Join ICDSME 2023 Technical tour to visit Malaysia’s Dams and get first-hand experience in the inner workings of its operations and safety protocols. The itinerary includes a site visit to Klang Gate Dam, Smart Tunnel, and Putrajaya Dams with delegates enjoying an evening dinner on a Cruise.
Social Programme
17-20 March 2023
A full social and cultural programme is being arranged for delegates and accompanying persons, to give them a chance to sample the best of Malaysian cuisine and to relax in an informal atmosphere with friends from the international Dam community. Please continue to check the website for updates.
Asia 2023
14-16 March 2023
ICDSME2023 is delighted to announce that it will be held in conjunction with Asia 2023. Organised by The Aqua~Media International Ltd., there will be a joint Opening Ceremony for both events on 14 March 2023, and then the ICDSME 2023 will officially begin on the 16 and 17 March 2023.
